Entur is Norway’s leading national travel planner, integrating multiple transportation options like buses, trains, ferries, and trams. The company facilitates seamless travel experiences for millions of users, offering real-time updates, journey planning, and ticketing for public transport across the country.
They aim to streamline public transport logistics and ensure that users can easily navigate complex networks with real-time data and easy access to schedules and tickets.
The Challenge
Entur faced the challenge of managing large volumes of transport data from various sources, all in real-time. Their existing system struggled to handle disparate data from multiple transport networks, which led to inefficiencies and delays in providing up-to-date information to end-users.
The platform required a robust solution to integrate data from various providers and provide real-time updates and analytics for both passengers and transport operators.
The Solution
To solve Entur’s data management challenges, I implemented a robust Elasticsearch database with a custom Kibana dashboard for real-time data visualization and analysis. This solution aggregates data from multiple public transport networks, cleans it, and ensures that real-time updates flow seamlessly into their system.
The solution included:
